About BIOSSA-UL
The Biological Sciences Student Association (BIOSSA) is one of the premier undergraduate professional academic associations at the University of Liberia (UL). Founded on June 1, 1974, within the Department of Biological Sciences, Thomas J. R. Faulkner College of Science and Technology (TJRF COST), it carries forward a legacy of institutional discovery that began when the college laid down its roots on February 15, 1951.
We unify students across four core degree-granting specialties: General Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Coming from diverse backgrounds, ethnic groups, genders, and beliefs, our members are dedicated to building academic excellence, mutual tolerance, peer counseling, and joint scientific contributions to improve health and research landscapes throughout Liberia.
- Support historical educational and socioeconomic needs of student members.
- Build strong cross-collaborative networks across all branches of natural sciences.
- Offer structured peer counseling systems for high-level specialized coursework.
- Advance student welfare via direct organizational and partner-solicited aid.
